We sometimes need to be reminded of our true power.

Often, we are blindsided by our true potential. I learned that yesterday from an encounter with a black bear in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

I was casually finishing the dinner remains of my outdoor grill when I noticed some shuffling in the woods nearby. As I turned my attention to the source, I saw a big black bear coming towards me. I froze. Then I blinked. And then I remembered the rules. I raised my arms up high to appear much taller and made a shrilling sound. It worked on the first try. The bear turned around in fear and quickly ran back into the woods.

This got me thinking of how often we as business owners demonstrate a similar behavior.

Perceived threats limit us from achieving our goals. Even worse, we forget our innate power. That five-hundred-pound bear was capable of easily hitting its target and crushing everything in between. Instead it stood powerless in the face of imagined danger. Fortunately for me but limiting for her.

When do you show up fearful because of a limiting belief? Where do you hold back because you doubt your true potential?

Often, I see my clients hold back from opportunities because they don’t trust their ability to nail it. We are so much more powerful than we know. Don’t limit your true potential or underestimate your innate abilities by imagined limitations. I am here to remind you to step into your powerful self as an executive and take your business to the next level. You are a powerhouse. There is nothing in between you and your target goals other than imagined adversity.

Go for it.
